EastEnders at 35: At Home with June Brown

To mark EastEnders 35th birthday DistinctNostalgia is going all soap retro for the next few weeks as we remember the hit BBC soap in its very early years.

Former EastEnders star Rani Singh joins MIM's Ashley Byrne for some special interviews - and first up is a trip to meet June Brown who has been playing Dot in the serial for almost 35 years.

Rani was the Asian female lead in EastEnders in the late 1980s and recalls why she and her on screen family were originally brought into the programme.

She soon made friends with fellow cast members including June but this is the first time they've met in three decades.

June and Rani recall the early years of the show and June talks candidly about working with acting stalwarts like Anna Wing (Lou Beale) and Gretchen Franklin (Ethel).

She talks about how playing Dot changed her life, how she changed Dot - and her EastEnders future.

Expect some fun, memories and a few reveals along the way.
